In October 2020, Chopard proudly resumed its role as lead sponsor and official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia, Italy’s famous classic car rally, continuing a tradition that the Maison has upheld since 1988. Each year, Chopard’s commitment to this event provides an opportunity for the Maison’s co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele to show his passion for motor cars, by taking part in the 1,000 mile (1,600 km) endurance race that sees competitors complete a loop from Brescia to Rome and back. And each year, the Maison unveils a new collection of Mille Miglia watches to celebrate what is regularly dubbed the most beautiful race in the world. For this new edition, a chronograph, the Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Power Control in Lucent Steel™ and 18k rose gold (edition limited to 500 pieces), also joins the collection, with a dial inspired by a dashboard. This model features an elegant “Azzurro” blue dial, which contrasts superbly with the “Mille Miglia red” used for the detail of the hands and the instantly recognizable, arrow-shaped race logo framing the date window.
